Great day at Wenvoe Castle Monday 4th Sept with Team Generation Golfer

Welcomed on arrival by Golf Club Professional Jason Harris and Club staff. We all enjoyed the views looking out over the 18th green whilst having lovely breakfast plus tea and coffee included with the super deal given direct. Having Wenvoe linked up as one of our Star golf clubs, we highly recommend a visit.

As for the Golf course: Tip top condition and greens are splendid plus run true to the eye.

1st hole from the tee box is very challenging with danger both left and right and demands a good drive, leaving a long shot in too a protected raised green if you wished to take it on. Its over 500-yard par 5 so recommend laying up giving better chance of scoring on this stroke index 5 on the well laid out course planner.

This followed by a lovely par 3 – raised button green, that just needs accuracy to land smoothly at just over 100 yards

Drivable par 4 3rd slightly down then up to another raised green just over 300 yards, views stunning from the tee.

Again the 4th is a risk and reward drivable 300-yard protected hole, pending on wind direction

The 5th is another par 5 just over 450 yards that requires a risky 2nd shot if challenging the green in 2.

Views from the 6th again super and yet another challenging 300-yard risk and reward drivable hole.

The 7th is stroke index 1 and deserves the right too – tight drive between danger both side with your second shot demanding 2 extra club selection due to the high raised green, again protected all around.

The 8th is another low index over 450 yards downhill all the way with your second shot being blind.

Lovely par 3 9th of which is one for the N/P as it’s a great looking hole and has bunkers in front of the slightly raised green. The tee box tucked back behind trees not allowing you to read wind direction and strength of ball movement.

Back 9 holes in my opinion stand out, and seems a different course.

The 10th is a scenic hole, playing your second shot over the lake to a narrow green protected by button bunkers.

11th is a sloping from right to left between tree lined fairway. Playing your second shot up towards the stunning Club house.

12th is another drivable hole pending on wind condition, again tree lined both sides.

13th long par 5 that can be reached in two if you split the fairway between long grass left or thick trees and O/B right.

14th stroke index 2 over 400 yards and need a great tee shot slightly left side of fairway to give chance of hitting protected green in 2

15th long par 3 playing 200 yards into a tunnel like green with bunkers both sides.

16th & 17th both low index holes and could spoil your card if both tee shots hit correctly. Much risk and reward for both and splendid holes.

18th is class – blind tee shot with deep rough and slope left and high trees right. Hit the fairway and you will have a great looking shot into the green before the outstanding surrounding of the Club house. The view is worthy of a photo every time.

Look forward to returning soon Team GG
