The Montgomerie Golf Course
Holes: 18 | Par: 69 | Yardage: 6,294
Played it last week – almost every hole has some kind of feature of stunning views – very hilly course that we would recommend a power caddy or buggy for the not so fit.
Every green was consistent to the next and run true and in fantastic condition – Possibly the best we have played on this summer – Lush green and well looked after.
Lots of holes with much danger but at the same time much reward if taken on. There is everything from lakes, ravines, hazards, OB`s, streams and deep overgrowth if shot isn’t executed correctly.
With 5 par 3`s on offer, I would truly say each one is difficult and well designed with the traps in perfect areas avoid them and test your putting ability as not one has a flat landing zone and very undulated.
Highly recommend this course for a day out or even a stay and play and include one of there other fantastic courses – Pop in the Society drop down page on society deals and look at what deals can be had or contact us for more and we can sort the right price out .
What Jim says: Spent a glorious afternoon playing the Montgomerie course in mid August. Teeing off at about 3pm we managed to just about squeeze the full 18 holes into our visit. The views on the course are spectacular and you can really sense the atmosphere of all the previous big tournaments held here. The greens were fab and the holes were challenging but not to hard for an 10 handicapper. Clubhouse is first class and not too expensive and the pro shop is stacked with the latest kit. Great visit all round, thanks Team GG at Generation Golfer and all the team from Celtic Manor Resort – Will be returning very soon. 5* Resort
